  Holding a field day for unison of district residents
   
The event of sports day for residents is held every year like the following, for the purpose of commemorating the residents'day, providing festive gathering for unison of the district residents, promoting friendly relations among the residents, and developing Gwangjin-gu into a healthy and lively district .

Time of the event: Around May, every year
Place of the event: Soccer playground, Ttukseom area, Hangang(river)citizens' park Participants:About 5,000 residents (300 persons from each dong)

Entrance ceremony
Ceremony commemorating residents day
  Introduction of guests attended, followed by welcoming remarks
  Reading aloud the Chart of Gwangjin residents, and awarding grand prizes to selected
      residents

Athletic competition between dongs
  Competition games: tug of war, ssireum (wrestling), relay, group rope skipping,
      rolling rugby ball, and hula-hoop contest (6 games)
  Extra game: goodwill match between VIP guests and vocational organizations

Accessory events before and after the ceremony
  Before ceremony: performance of instruments for folk music, flying show of motorized
      paragliding
  After ceremony: demonstration performance of salsa dance, aerobics demo,
      bodybuilding marching, etc.
