This is the largest complex distribution center in Korea. It houses special stores of electronic and information communications as well as subsidiary facilities, such as a central center, convenience facilities, etc. It is well known as being the "Mecca" for up-to-date industries.

Gwangjin-gu is planning various projects intended for it to become the central district of northeastern Seoul. Part of this development has been the construction of the 'center for up-to-date complex circulation.' The District is already leading in the establishment of commercial areas and developing the areas near subway stations.

Works in progress include the 'general leisure town', which is centered on 'Techno-mart' at the Gangbyeon station, and the 'administrative town' near the Guui station. In order to make Gwangjin the central district of distribution, the district is making efforts to encourage the building of distribution facilities on Cheonhodaero(street) near the Gunja Station. The district is also promoting a sales facility zone that connects Children's Grand Park Station and the Hwayang Market. The effort to become the 'gateway of Seoul in the 21st century' is progressing in a step-by-step manner with careful analysis of regional characteristics and plans for programs at different levels.
