The Emblem
The blue color of the emblem represents clean water and the
environment. The green symbolizes Gwangjin-gu's rich green
spaces, composure and culture. The white-colored shape of
the sailing ship is symbolic of Gwangjin's everlasting history
and future.


The Zelkova Tree
Upright and living to a great age, the zelkova tree has been
providing a shady resting place in many villages throughout
Korea for many years. Especially, Hwayang-dong in the
District has a zelkova tree, which is more than 700 years old
and has been designated as a Local Monument No. 2. The tree
symbolizes the District's ever-lasting history and imposing
spirit.


The Magpie
Since the early ages, the magpie has been known as the
lucky bird, which is believed to deliver good news. The
magpie inhabits Acha Mountain and the Children's Grand Park
but can be spotted anywhere. This intimate bird represents
the bright future of Gwangjin-gu.


The Azalea
After enduring rainstorms and cold weather, the azalea
blooms splendidly in early spring to the delight of many.
Widely spread throughout Acha Mountain, it is a well-known
flower that symbolizes the prosperity of Gwangjin-gu and the
solidarity of the residents.
Blue
The blue color is symbolic of a clean environment with blue
water and sky. It stands for the energy, stability and
harmony of Gwangjin and its residents.
