A cloth was decolorized when it came back from a cleaner.
Case: My coat came back from the cleaner, entirely decolorized and shrunked. The inside color of the coat was red originally, but some other color was dyed inside. The cleaner insists that they followed the washing instruction as indicated, and that they cannot compensate for the damage because it is not their fault.

Resolution: Damages related to cleaning may be caused by the defects on clothes by the manufacturers, faults on the cleaning people, customers' faults, and so on. In order to find out the exact causes for damages, experts should investigate the matter to get accurate evaluation on the damages. In case of damages on clothes that have been taken to cleaners, customers are first to check if the cleaner has followed the washing instruction.

Although the cleaner insists that they followed the washing instruction, it is possible that they did not followed it due to the coat's bad condition. If the test result indicates that the coat was washed in water whereas it should have been dry cleaned, the cleaner must compensate the damage to the customer or restore the decolorized coat to its original condition according to the regulation for the damage compensation for customers. In this case, it was proved that decolorization definitely occurred while the coat was being washed, the cleaner agreed to pay a portion of the coat price to the customer since it has been worn already before it was taken to the cleaner.

Clear marks on a blouse disappeared after washing it

Case: I purchased a blouse with clear rose marks. Then I washed it for the first time after wearing it for a while. But when the blouse dried, the marks disappeared, so I no longer can wear it.

Resolution: This case is the defect on the print-process of the cloth. The manufacturer is therefore obligated to exchange it with a new product or to give a full refund. Marks are pressed on the clothes by a printing process to make clear marks. Commonly urethane grease is used as printing glue to make a clear effect on clothes not the printing glue for printing. After these urethane grease marks are printed on clothes, the marks are dried by heat. The blouse you purchased had a problem with the drying process of the urethane grease marks.
