After analyzing the most important potential projects to formulate an upgraded master plan, we selected 10 key projects to be implemented during the next 4 years.

    4. Transform the Gwangjang-Dong playground site into an environment-friendly place
    for exercise and relaxation.
5. Demolish the Dokkaebi (bugaboo) buildings at Gunja-Dong to create the Gwangjang
    Park and parking lots.
6. Build a multi-purpose public center at san 81-3, Gwangjang-Dong.
7. Build the vicinity of Hwayang-Dong zelkova tree as a park for the public.
     
   
4. Transform the Gwangjang-Dong playground site into an environment-friendly place
for exercise and relaxation.
       
      The 14,000-pyng sprawling site of Gwangjang-Dong playground will be developed into
   an environment-friendly space with various facilities for sports and relaxation. First, a
   gymnasium with a combined size of 2,500 pyng on 2 underground floors and 3 above-
   ground floors will be built. Second, a multi-purpose grass field of 3,000 pyng and
   ecological pond of 1,500 pyng at the flood pumping station will be established.
   In addition, a parking lot linked to public transportation will be established and a
   riverside promenade and bicycle road will be developed.
       
   
5. Gunja-Dong Dokkaebi (bugaboo) building site will be transformed into the
Gwangjang Park and parking lots.
       
      The so-called Dokkaebi (bugaboo) buildings, ugly deserted structures fronting the
   Children Park in Gunja-Dong, will be completely removed. In their place, at the 1,700-
   pyng site surrounding the Dokkaebi (bugaboo) buildings, an underground parking lot
   and Gwangjang Park, which is set to be the landmark of Gwangjin-Gu, are planned to
   be built.
       
   
6. A multi-purpose public center will be built at san 81-3, Gwangjang-Dong.
       
      Gwangjin-Gu will purchase the 4,074-pyng site at Gwangjang-Dong 81-3 from Pilot Inc.
   to build a multi-purpose public center for various public facilities including an indoor
   badminton playground and an underground parking lot.
   
   
7. The vicinity of Hwayang-Dong zelkova tree will be built as a park for the public's
relaxation.
       
      Hwayang Pavilion used to be near the Hwayang-Dong zelcova tree that was designated
   by Seoul City as Local Monument 2. King Sejong had the pavilion built in this area
   where he enjoyed seeing herds of horses grazing. Later King Danjong stayed in this
   pavilion on his way to his exile to the Yeongwol region. An area of 1,500 pyng
   surrounding the zelkova tree will be purchased and developed as the Pavilion Garden
   and the Culture/Welfare Center of Hwayang-Dong to create a relaxing space for the
   public with a living history.
