Following the construction of the library and culture center, a public plaza for Gu residents and a Gu sports center will be built in Gwangjin, completing the cultural infrastructure. These cultural facilities will provide a wide selection of high-quality lectures on culture/art/artistic hobbies and stage various cultural/athletic events to make Gwangjin a town with copious opportunities to enjoy culture and art.

Operate a collection room of Acha Mountain local traditional materials, designate Boru Fortress on Hongnyeon Peak as a cultural asset and promote folk song performances related to the legend of General Ondal and Princess Pyeonggang. These measures will pass on the traditional culture and heighten the attachment of residents to local traditions.

Hold various high-quality cultural and art events such as the Gwangjin Culture Festival, Acha Mountain Saturday Festival, public contest of pictures of smiles, cultural festivals for the youth, music performances, and exhibitions, to reach out to and let residents add culture to their routine lives.

Support various features of cultural organizations such as a traditional orchestra, the Gwangjin orchestra, children, female and male choruses, Gu associations for culture, music, painting and photography to make Gwangjin a vibrant town of refined cultural tastes.

Organize various athletic events including sports competitions in celebration of the Gu Residents Day, walking competitions, soccer matches sponsored by the Gu Chief to bring residents together and to make Gwangjin healthier.
